This sandeel pattern has been fine tuned and perfected in the field of battle over the last 5 years. This is the fly that I fish in the UK and USA 80 % of the time. Yes its boring but it keeps working .If you have fished with me in the UK or Cape Cod then I know you will know this fly !
It has accounted in excess of 3,000 fish .(Mostly Bass) For the first time I have tied this fly for sale via my website. The latest lightweight version will suit anglers that fish skinny water , want less splash on landing or simply struggle with heavy flies.

I launched uksaltwaterflies.com in May 2005 and now enjoy a loyal international client base of saltwater fly fishermen .
I spend part of each year hosting and guiding at various tropical destinations . I also take clients Bass fishing in the UK and America between June and October.
Hopefully all of this provides me with enough experience to be able help and advise clients on their specific requirements. Customers have also been a great source of knowledge and inspiration for me and many have become great friends over the years.

Fishing season -All year although May to December are the most productive
Likely Shore Locations - Sandy Beaches , Estuaries, Tidal Races, Broken Weedy shallow Ground. Places with water movement structure and food. The list is endless with Bass.
Geographic area -Bass are distributed around most of the UK coastline . The lower half of England still has the greatest concentration of mature fish
Methods
Bass love to feed close to shore and often in low light conditions in shallow water , this provides a great opportunity for the Saltwater fly fisherman to target the species especially at Dawn and Dusk. Floating and intermediate lines will suffice for most UK Bass fishing situations.
Flies
The range of flies that will capture Bass within our inshore waters is huge although this can be whittled down to a few key patterns . Size and shape will be the deciding factor most of the time. The ‘’A’ List UK Bass fishing flies would be
Clouser Minnow Size 1 - 4 # Colors - Olive and White , Charteruse and white , Orange and Black , Pink and White for schoolies
Leftys Deciever . Size 2/0 - 2 # Colours Blue and White, Charteruse and White , All white ,
Gurglers and Poppers. The size 2 # Gurgler is a great choice of fly , it has a great top water action and will cast on lightweight tackle with ease. Large Poppers require heavier lines and a strong hauling technique and are well suited to Surf or Choppy conditions.
The bonefish is the type species of the Albulidae, or bonefishes. It is amphidromous, living in inshore tropical waters, moving onto shallow tidal flats to feed with the incoming tide, and retreating to deeper water as the tide ebbs.
Juvenile bonefish may be observed in large shoals of like-sized individuals with large mature fish swimming in smaller groups or in pairs. Bonefish are considered to be among the world's premier game fish and are highly sought after by anglers.
The Mahimahi (in Hawaiian), Coryphaena hippurus, also known as common dolphin-fish, dorado maverikos, or lampuki (in Maltese) are surface-dwelling ray-finned fish found in off-shore tropical and subtropical waters worldwide

The Giant Trevally has a wide distribution, existing in the warm tropical waters of the Pacific and Indian Oceans. They are usually found as far south as central New South Wales in Australia, east to the Hawaiian Islands, west to the eastern islands of Africa and north to Japan.
The GT has become a cult fish the world over, fly fishing for them can be great fun. Poppers worlk very well as we have discovered for ourselves on our charters.

Permit are usually found in shallow, tropical waters such as flats, channels, and muddy bottoms. They are usually seen as individuals or in small schools.
Although Permit are found close to shore and even in some brackish areas, they spawn offshore. Young Permit are found usually in the surf zone where there are plenty of small invertebrates for them to feed on.
Permit are found in the western Atlantic ocean from Massachusetts to Brazil, including most of the Caribbean islands.
Snook
The common snook (Centropomus undecimalis) is a species of marine fish in the family Centropomidae of the order Perciformes. This species is native to the coastal waters of the western Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea, from southern Florida and Texas to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

he tarpons are large coastal fish prized by anglers. They grow up to 8 feet in length and sometimes weigh 200 pounds.
When swimming in oxygen-poor water, tarpons can breathe air from the surface. There are two species in a single genus Megalops in the family Megalopidae, one native to the Atlantic, and the other to the Indo-Pacific oceans.
The genus name derives from the Greek adjective megalo meaning 'large', and the noun opsi, meaning 'face'.
The Tuna family have plenty to offer Saltwater fly fishermen. Surface blitzing shoals, Aggresive takes to surface flies. Dogged fights Any Tuna is a marvel to catch on fly.
