Portsmouth & District Angling Society

On the 12th August 1948, 8 founder members, each put a 1 into a kitty to form Portsmouth & District Angling Society. The founders included Ron Snook, who held office until he passed away in September 2003, Bert Pascoe who was club secretary for 25 years, Trevor Pascoe and Harry Oakshott. Sir Jocelyn Lucas Bart M.P for the city, accepted an invitation to be president of the newly formed society, which enabled them to become affiliated to the Central Association of Angling clubs. This gave the new members stretches of the rivers, Arun and Mole to fish. PDAS further invited prominant councillors to be Vice Presidents, they accepted, which enabled the society to obtain more waters. The numbers grew, giving plenty of variation for the members to fish.

Currently the PDAS has 13 Waters in and around Portsmouth.

The Society aims to offer as wide a range of fishing as possible to an open membership. Over the years the Society has built a very good name with both landlords and the public.
We look to our members to help us keep our reputation and enjoy fishing in some of the best waters in the area.
