Black Swan is a family sailing club that opened 28 years ago in the beautiful surroundings of Dinton Pastures Country Park, between Wokingham and Reading. The club caters for most non-powered watersports including dinghy sailing, canoing and windsurfing.
The club is open for members seven days a week all year. Non-members are welcome when a steward is on duty every weekend and weekdays from the May Day bank holiday until the end of September, between 10.00 a.m. and sunset.
The clubhouse overlooks the 75-acre sailing lake. There are heated changing rooms for men and ladies providing hot showers. There is a fitted galley for snacks and drinks. Outside there is a large patio area with barbecue. There are three fenced and surfaced compounds available for the storage of members’ craft.
Members have an active race programme and enjoy many social events both on and off the water.
There is a wide selection of craft available for public hire including some new kayaks and Pico dinghies.
If you are a novice or wish to brush up on your watersport skills we run a variety of RYA and BCU training courses during the summer as well as activities for children. In 2009 the club was awarded OnBoard status by the RYA in recognition of its work to introduce young people to the exciting sport of sailing.
The club is run by a committee of members that meets once a month. Members receive a regular newsletter.
